 how to make a map... (for first time users)

just incase anny one dident know how or where to ask...

first u need to open up the map editor, it is called the Cartographer Map Editor. it will be located in your TAK forlder C:\Cavedog\Kingdoms.

when u lanch it a menu will apear asking for a width and hight. a good size to begin with is 5 by 5 and leave the world type as aromon.

when finished the main program will load up showing a 10/10 grid. this is becaes the standers tile size is 2/2. now go to the left where there is a list of files and open Map Sections then Low Flats. at the bottom a seletion of tiles appear. click the grean one then click on the grid. this should have plased a grean square on the grid. fill the map with the grean tile the select the blue one and place it once on the map. next open Coast Sandy and use this tile set to fill in arund the blue square.

the next stage is to set the player start locations. so open Special and Player Start Position and place it on the map. this will show where player one starts. next chainged the drop down menu to player 2 then place a second player start on the map this one should be grean thith the nuber 2 in insted of red.

and last of all mana. go to Features then mana then Sacred Stone and place 3 or 4 around each player start.

now to save your map. the folder to save it in is C:\Cavedog\Kingdoms\maps

after this you should be able to play the map agensed the machine. cheers gl and have fun making maps.

I just made my own map! And it worked, great guide!

Now to make something strategic. It seems the maps people play online are flat brunt force, head to head rush style maps. Which don't get me wrong, they're not bad, but I think if you can add strategy to these maps, you guys will have a new genre of maps that can be enjoyable, but someone with strategy can win over the old rush. Something to make you think!
