Odd... never heard of that.

I know every map has its own OTA file.... so i was gonna say the map your trying to open got corrupted or repacked wrong.

In such problems, the best solution is one: Reinstall TAK. If the problem is not fixed with reinstall, then redownload it and reinstall it right after.

He wants the units, that he placed with Cartographer, to show up in the game when in the map he created. Anyone experienced?

I think I know what's the problem. The units-buildings appear and can be used only in scripted multiplayer maps. In skirmish-deathmatch type maps you can use only sacred stones, gaia structures, gaia walls, tress & rocks, sea waves, sound effect objects and player starting positions. You cannot use animals & monsters, Aramon units & buildings, Veruna units & buildings, Taros units & buildings, Zhon units & buildinngs, Creon units & buildings and special-heroic units, because these are only allowed into scripted multiplayer maps. I hope I was helpful.

Hy I'm a new member and I guess kind of new to TA: Kingdoms (even though I've been playing it for yrs) I still can't figure out how to work a scripted map. So my question is how do i make a scripted map? Please give a detailed answer explaining how, it would much appreciated. Thank You.

When u play on Multiplayer theres a option to enable Map Script

If ur map supports script, u can put premade units and buildings in the map
U can also use the "Scripting" option, to work with triggers and events

For example u can make a map where on the bottom of the map it spawns monsters and these monsters (progammed with scripting) will keep attack the player base, the objective is to protect the base for X time

U can make many things with scripting, just check it and learn by testing
U can test ur maps with me if u want, on Gameranger

I have some good scripts for u to test if u want

Go on the Gameranger main tab
Select "My Games"

So only rooms of the games u have will appear

U have to browse the game too

Go on File > Options > Games > Hit key "T" > Find TAK > Click on its name > Click on "Browse" > Browse where is tak on ur computer for gameranger
And thats it

I'm playing off two to many versions of tak. maybe that's why it's not appearing..
never mind now i see and thank you please let's play a game u can be the host if you want. you want to arrange a time to play? soon?

Nice seeing new players coming in. I try to convience some guys to play these days too, but I hadn't any luck yet... Hopefully, I will persuade them in the future.

Now, you can use rammstein's mod to play with TAKswithcer any multiplayer mission like it was a singleplayer one!

Most people I have tried to show this game too dislike it for "poor graphics" but I found that most of the time you let them play the game awhile and they will get hooked. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with the graphics but even I admit they are pale in comparision to a game like skyrim.

hmm not really
menu still have only 640x480

interface on full hd looks really small (spell icons, buildings/construction icon, unit ant size etc)
playing on high resolution got advantage on big cd/dc map where u can easier see whole map, mana places etc,

anyway ?scaling? is really good like on game of this time (starcraft dont have any xD, only ?640x480? or maybe 800x600 but i doubt it))

Main menu interface doesn't look bad with its 640x480 (it is highly artistic and of a great quality). Furhtermore, small icons aren't that bad and yes, you can have viewing advantage with a bigger resolution but harder micromanagment (it is up to you). Finally, minimap and TAB's map view are there in order to assure your LOS's and radar's visibility.

also TAB minimap its one of the awesomest thing, btw the bigger resolution the harder hit enemy unit on minimap radar


also about radar
Do you got feel, that they unnecessarily copy this from TA? its medieval game what the hell radar doing here

It is called 'fantasy' and 'magic'. Imagine it like a 6th sense or like noise a unit does while it moves and it can be detected. Furthermore, units with good 'radar' are mostly magical and/or special in some way... Wink

I get that message too sometimes when I try to load a map; when that happens, I have to quit the program and reload it to load the map I want.

(a lot of my maps are Veruna ones; I like the terrain for them best.)

If Cartographer is giving problems, use HPI View to view the map file to see if there are any missing files, such as the ota.
