Ok, this isn't a full-game strat, but something I picked up watching Monster play years ago. It seemed to work well enough for him, so I'll stick this little snippet in here.

Basilisks. If Monster was using Zhon (which he did prefer to do for a long time) then he would use a basilisk-heavy defense perimeter. One-hit KOs for most units, plus leaving behind mini road blocks. As the enemy staggers through your new stone garden, you have more time to create more statues. Only maybe 1 zap tower per 6-8 basilisks. The object is not just to kill the enemy, but to turn them into obstacles for their further expansion. I have seen this strategy completely block off paths in maps like sewers where there is only so much room to move freely.

Basiliks are very underrated...

Good Tip.... except Zhon on sewers... bad bad idea.
Every other race has a chance, even creon.... but zhon.... man... thats pushing it!

Lol. I know, I know. It's been well established and documented that Sewers is just not a Zhon map. I was just using it as an example of 'limited space' heh.

1v1 zhon on sewers is pretty much suicide.
2v2 zhon on sewers can work extremely well. Have your partner make an extra builder as early as they can to help your spreading. And then you end up with the best of both worlds. But yes, baslisks are extremely solid units.

basilisk most time is good to drop (roc) in enemy zhon base to stone their builders...And for drop defense...can do amazing job x jungle orcs, witchs and others drops...
