 How to deal with the Aramonian Trebuchet.

One of the most annoying defensive/offensive structure is the Aramonian Trebuchet and, unfortunately, Veruna seems to have a greater disadvantage against this structure than the other three kingdoms (Taros, Zhon, Creon). Here are some tips which I hope will help to deal with them.
1] When you see your ground units or structures to be hitted by something that looks like an extremely-fast moving cannonbal it is by 95% a Trebuchet. The first thing you should do is to detect the way from where that "cannonball" came. It is not an easy thing to detect its coming direction, you actually can only notice the moving Trebuchet's projective just before it hits you, but you must!
2] After detecting its direction, quickly create an aerial scout (Parrot in Veruna) and send it flying towards the Trebuchet's direction. Sooner or later, you will notice a big wooden structure with a round stone base. This is the Trebuchet. If your Parrot is killed by Archers or something else before you locate the structure, make a few more Parrots and send them all together. Luckily, someone will survive to see the Treb's location.
3] Deal with the problem! Destroy the Trebuchet!! This may be an easy or an extremely difficult task, depends on how well the Aramonian player guards this engine of destruction. The most common way is to create a dozen of very fast ground units (Berzerkers or Amazon Kinghts) and send them alltogether against the Treb.
4] In case the upper strategy doesn't work because the Aramonian ground defenses are too strong (many Strongholds or a lot of infantry for example) or because the terrain makes it impossible (aquatic maps for example) you should make an aerial assault using the only aerial offensive unit available to Verunans (Dirigible). Create a dozen of them. Since the Aramon has no offensive air units at all, you will probably encounter minimum resistance while your Dirigibles fly towards the Trebuchet and blow it up to pieces. However, a group of Guard Towers and Mage Archers can wipe out your Dirigible fleet fairly easy, so be careful!
5] In some cases the best way to destroy an Aramonian Trebuchet is the Verunan equivalent of long-range bombard, called Mortar. Just create a single Mortar and bombard the Treb without mercy. Just built it as fast as possible (the use of multiple Priestesses is highly effective, if you have the mana of course) and be sure that Mortar's range is big enough to reach the hostile Treb. It would be a shame to waste more than 5000 mana during its creation and your Mortar to be unable to hit its target. Don't forget to guard your Mortar and your Priestesses with a few units (Warriors may be the best choice here) because an unpredicted enemy assault is always possible. I suggest to use this strategy only if the above ones have a very low chance of success.
6] If you play on an aquatic map, things are pretty easy, and that's because you have also your type of Trebuchet, the Trebuchet Ship! Verunan Trebuchet Ships have a shorter range that the Aramonian Trebuchets, but are much cheaper than them (almost the half price), and the Aramon player should better think twice if he/she wants to survive. After all, in an aquatic map, Veruna players have the upper hand.
7] Here is some extra info about the trebuchet:
* Trebuchets cost more than 10000 mana and are slow in production, so if you destroy it before it act your opponent will lose a lot of time and a lot of mana for nothing!
* Trebuchets have tremendous range! In small maps, they can easily hit any ground/naval unit or building. However, they cannot hit aerial units and in big maps you can keep your ground/naval units safe by leading them out of the Treb's range.
* Trebs are rediculously fragile. It is by far the Aramonian building with the less hit points (if you exclude Lodestones), so they can be destroyed really fast.
* Aramon players usually use Flying Builders to construct Trebs to the most unpredictable places. Always search every single inch of the map for Trebuchets, you never know where they may be...

ok that is a personal problem i have lol
Trebs. \"****\" i hate them and landherr know how lol
Well kill a treb it depends a lot of the circunstances, but the best way is in a air attack. But that is hard to say, we must know the defense, how it is protected, most important is. In experienced hands a treb isnt make without good defense, i mean impenetrable or almost. Anyway i think trebs take the fun off in any game since when it start to treb mana or someone have +3 or +2 in certains game. But what can i do...it is a unit and must be used

nice post myst...culture is very important. study
i guess angel is right about veruna being a bit weak against treb.
Normally you need try win before enemy have time to do trebs or cannoers...
Dirigibles and berserkers normally are best options, maybe mortars sometimes...
Amazons work nice against treb? That is new for me...will test someday.
