Ok, idk how many people have tried this, but if you put a wall around a single Mage Tower, the mage tower can hit that unit and the unit cannot hit the mage tower.

You think thats cool? Wall in a single Mind Mage, enough where nothing can be dropped inside. Put one or two of these in your base in strategic locations and laugh at Zhon drops!

Irviny used that very much, and it was pretty effective.

That's really effective, mostly because Mage Towers cannot attack units that are standing next to it. The same goes with Strongholds and Bastions. Bomb Sprinkles surrounded by walls are also a must have. Clever strategy, Clay, it would be fun to see you using it during an online match. Wink {The Mind Mage trick is good too!}

I might use it online given the right circumstances. Tho I only enjoy Taros in 3v3 matches, where I have a Zhon on my side, in which case... I'd much rather be the zhon and use a taros builder. Blah blah blah. LOL

Whenever WC3 first came out and I started playing that a little, I tried translating the tower rush strat used by Orc players in WC3 to taros on cd/dc maps.

I would use it on any smaller maps with bridges as the main choke points on maps.. Riverlook, Troubled Waters (which was a little too small to be effective) etc. But would build like 5 builders.. first builder goes and builds mana, mon goes builds 1 mana, rest of the builders go to bridge start a mage tower and begin walling around it. Then you basically tech up to a temple and start dropping Blade Demons in the back of their base and just do your best to keep cats off your mage tower and you win. It's easier said than done, but it was a fun strat to try.

As long as you got the mage tower up before their mon waved all your builders, you were good to go.
